Another way to stay connected
I Finally Got Wired in this Hyped World
I was just going through some white paper which mentioned about different emerging technologies and the hype cycle around it. This white paper very beautifully and elaborately depicted the hype life cycle of different technologies our IT industry had witnessed.
I was very much impressed with the fact what writer tried to stress upon that “We are living in a Hyped up World”. The phrase “Hyped up World” really took me back I thought for a while – Are we really living in a Hyped up World?
Well I guess yes. Look around you, everything you see is hyped up. Right from you morning news to your daily life routine talk or gossip is hyped.
Looking at the news media condition now a day, it had come a long way from the Delhi Doordarshan half an hour news program to be a 24X7X365 News channel. Not only has the news program evolved from half an hour program but also has the news, from being a complete knowledge and current affairs to being a massively-over-hyped news drama.
The news of four-year-old boy named Prince Kumar which slipped into 53 feet deep and nine inches wide hole and its rescue program was completely over every news channel for the whole week. Yes it was just a normal news but not a news to be aired 24X7 by the national news channel.
I see hype being created around each and everything. Let look at the recent craze and the hype created with the Twenty-Twenty (T20) matches, even though it was the same bat and ball game with same set of player but with reduced number of over and some change in rules it was a complete craze among the cricket lovers and non cricket seekers all around the world. A cricket extravaganza what they called and with India winning the first ever T20 World cup it was a massive hit at least in India.
Apart from T20 matches hype is created in the every form of the game, be it the “Ashes Cup” or India-Pakistan Cricket matches or Mutthai Muralitharan break the world record or the very recent our very own Prince of Kolkata Sourav Ganguly hitting his maiden double century and hitting back hard at the selectors and our ex coach Greg Chappel.
Even politics has not been out of hype factor with the recent Narendra Modi Gujarat elections campaign and his statements.
Not even the common mans entertainment “Cinema” has been left out. The Hype that was created around “Om shanty Om” and “Saanwariya” was too much to handle. You could see OSO and Saanwariya everywhere.
Is it that we like things to get hyped or things are hyped to get attention?
And now when I see everyone going Blog crazy and hype around it…even I thought of catching up with this craze.
I can’t help it I had to be a part of this Blog’s craze and hype.
I would just like to call it that “I just got wired and you have to get wired to experience this craze”

that’s a good1 ashish,
welcome to the wired world
i don’t think you need not be part of this hyped world … or get crazy about it… u can ignore it right? … in fact if we (more and more ppl) start ignoring these hyped items … then only this craze about hype creation will get reduced (somewhat
) … what say?
