You might have seen the new movie trailer from the RGV ban­ner “Rann”. They came up with a song named “JANA-GANA-RANN” which very truly is another ver­sion our national anthem “JANA GANA MANA”. After it was first sung in 1911 has the mean­ing or the spirit of the song changed for us. Has our real life became more like a WAR zone( syn­onym for RANN) rather than a peace­ful prairie which our fore­fa­ther dreamt of when they were fight­ing for our freedom.

Are we really at war? Even though every­thing from out­side looks good but its a SNAFU out here or I would say yes we always were at war. Be the crime rate in our city, or cor­rup­tion. Ris­ing food prices or crude prices. Ris­ing rents & basic neces­sity. Our soci­ety, chang­ing cul­ture. A nor­mal mans fight to sur­vive his fam­ily. A fight against nat­ural calamity. Gov­ern­ment not able to per­form what we had expected out of them. Media becom­ing more of a masala enter­tain­ment shop rather than a news dri­ven. Sports per­son becom­ing actors rather than focus­ing on their sports and the pride of nation. ten­sion with the neigh­bor­ing coun­tries, infla­tion, econ­omy & reces­sion. Com­pe­ti­tion to be the best in every field be its sports study. Be the fore front run­ner in the space tech­nol­ogy the so called space race or mis­sile tech­nol­ogy so called arms race. Its in every form of life.

You might have also see nico­las cage in the movie “LORD of WARS”. It fol­lows the life of a fic­ti­tious ille­gal arms smug­gler through true war events.

There was a quo­ta­tion in the movie where in Yuri Orlov (Nicholas cage) says : They say, “Evil pre­vails when good men fail to act.” What they ought to say is, “Evil prevails.”

What do you think? Do we still have the spirit of Free­dom or we are at war. Or should I start say­ing “JANA-GANA-RAAN”.  We need good men to act and not let Evil pre­vail. I leave you with this though and the new ver­sion of JANA-GANA-RANN.. let me know your views on it.
