I believe every­body has seen the James Bond movies, one of the most inter­est­ing part of those movies were gad­gets and of course not to for­get the beau­ti­ful & gor­geous girls  ;-). How­ever today we would try to look at the gad­gets. Over the years the gad­gets have evolved from being a house­hold appli­ances to being a per­sonal acces­sories. They have changed from being a neces­sity to being a style state­ment. Its almost like the rock n roll craze of the 1940–60’s era.

The ear­lier form of gad­gets mostly were devel­oped or invented for mil­i­tary pur­poses, but later turned to mass pro­duc­tion for con­sumers. Till today it fol­lows the same path all the lat­est tech­nol­ogy have always been devel­oped for mil­i­tary or gov­ern­ment project pur­poses before its been released for con­sumer pur­pose. The few best exam­ples are mobile devices, inter­net (or the ear­lier LAN & WAN).. etc. Most of the tech­nol­ogy advance­ment for the gad­gets have gone through the same cycle first for the government/secret ser­vices and than made pub­lic as con­sumer goods.

Here is just a small exam­ple of how mobile phones our most impor­tant part of life now a days have evolved.

So what hap­pens with these evolv­ing gad­gets. Here is the list of it.

• The gad­gets becomes powerful
• have more features
• more smaller and sleeker
• smarter
• styl­ish
• cheaper to some extent.
• and the most impor­tant of all it keeps you tempted to keep on buy­ing or upgrad­ing your old gadgets.

These gad­gets have become so impor­tant in our day to day life that you can­not live with it. Uncon­sciously I have become so habit­ual to check my mobile(now with the social phone — twitter/facebook/orkut… etc..) every hours that if I for­get it at home for one day it feel kind of a void in me. Some of my friends are so habit­ual of hav­ing their IPod with them than they even go to sleep lis­ten­ing to them. These gad­gets have become the addic­tion next to cof­fee in every­day life. People have camped, stay awak­ened, killed, bur­gled, looted, beaten some­one or fall under the credit card debts just to get the hands at the newly released gadgets.
